We Keep Moving - National MS Society - Mini-Documentaries

Tags: , ,

Here’s another contest, but it’s not technically a video contest. Instead, the National MS Society is soliciting stories from people living with MS. It’s called We Keep Moving. They’re going to let public choose stories they want to see and then turn ten of those stories into mini-documentaries. This is a great hybrid idea, because they’ll get more professional produced work while still having a grass roots feel.

On side, note the National MS Society is a prolific video producer on its own. Check out their YouTube channel for tons and tons of educational videos, interview, and advocacy resources for the MS community.

The contest is hosted by Jason DaSilva, a documentary filmmaker living with MS. He produced the film When I Walk.

Jason’s bio from the website:

Jason DaSilva
Jason is a documentary filmmaker, writer and producer. His films have been featured in dozens of festivals, including the Latin American Film Festival, Sundance, and the International Documentary Festival of Amsterdam. His short documentary on MS, First Steps, was featured in the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival, and his first short film Olivia’s Puzzle received an Oscar qualification and was broadcast on HBO and PBS. Currently, Jason works on several productions at one time, including When I Walk – a feature-length documentary that is slated to be shown on PBS. The film explores how his world – his hopes, dreams and fears – has changed as he learns to live with MS since being diagnosed in 2005.
